EXTERIOR SIGNS AND AWNINGS

Exterior signs are crucial to advertising your new business.  We want this process to go quickly.  We've included a general description and timeline so you can understand and assist us in expediting the process. 

Step 1- SUBMISSION.  Fill out the included form as accurately as possible.   This triggers multiple things. 

  • Internally we review your info and get back to you with anything you've missed or might be unique to your location.
  • We compare the city you are in and local sign ordinances with corporate branding policies.   We are your advocates with corporate and the city and will work to keep everyone happy.  Let us know if you have concerns.
  • Site Survey scheduled if needed.
  • TIMELINE (2-3 days)

Step 2 - DESIGN.  We have all the info we need.  Time to design your space.

  • Initial exterior sign designs submitted to franchisee and franchisor.
  • Initial designs submitted to city.
  • Initial designs submitted to landlord.
  • Revisions submitted.
  • TIMELINE (3-8 days)

Step 3 - APPROVED.  Your exterior signs have been approved!  

  • (1-3 days) Landlord final approval.  Majority of cities will require an approve signature from landlord to get a permit.
  • (4-7 days) Engineering.  City's require engineering approval for building attachment.  This is designed by us and approved by an engineering firm.
  • (5-10 days) City Permit.  We submit plans we've made, engineering stamp of approval, and landlord approval to city.  They pass it from planning / engineering / building / permitting.  Some city's are quick and some city's require a lot of touches to get the permit.  We'll keep you updated.

Step 4 - DOWN PAYMENT.  We have a permit and we are ready to build and install.  We need your downpayment to begin.  We'll likely send you a downpayment invoice earlier but this is a do or die moment.  Time to get it done.  You should expect to pay 50% down generally.  This can be done online cc or check.

Step 5 - FABRICATION

  • (10-15 days) . Every single sign goes through our custom fab shop and is made specific to order.  This allows us to cater to special nuances of your location and make you look your best.
  • This process includes ordering materials, fabricating, quality testing, and crating.

Step 6 - INSTALLATION

  • (1-4 days) Depending on the amount of signs, awnings, etc, your installation will be scheduled and completed in 1-4 days. 
  • Keep in mind your installations was likely scheduled when we started fabrication so you'll know what is coming.

Step 7 - INSPECTION

  • (3-5 days)  City inspectors check the final product.  Once passed we close the permit process.
  • Keep in mind this doesn't influence your signs being up, but you should know this is part of the process.

 

KEYS TO SUCCESS - exterior signs.

  • INFORMATION - Better to submit too many pics than not enough.  Don't forget about marquee or street signs along with building.
  • POWER - How is power coming to your sign?  If you need help or advice for your contractor, please let us know.  We recommend that each sign is on a timer installed by your electrician.  Timers are consistent and last much longer than photocells.  When we install we expect power has been run to the sign locations.
  • CITY PERMIT - Many cities require a completed business license or other things to complete a permit.  We'll keep you informed and help you along the way.
